Even with the many glitches, bugs and issues in the new Cyberpunk 2077 launch, the sales have still sky rocketed. CD Projekt Red shared some of their stats which show the game project having the biggest launch day in PC gaming history, reaching over the recent high bar of 3.7 million, which was set by World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. Cyberpunk 2077 reached the bar of 4.72 million copies, which is over a million units ahead of Shadowlands even before the purchases made on day one itself.
To give you an idea of how hyped up the game is, a number of 8 million people pre-ordered the game, and the CD Projekt Red account went on to divide by platform.
A huge part of that success solely goes to marketing, and their sneak peak trailers that built up an incredible hype for the game. CD Projekt Red also has an already large audience that they have built over their Witcher games.
Cyberpunk 2077 had over 1 million players on launch day, and that's on Steam alone, with a lot of good reviews and some bad due to a few issues when in-game. Nevertheless, the game has seemed to meet up to its hype and it has made a huge success.
