What is your favorite play style in MMO RPG games? I will explain the main types of play style. Keep in mind, if you are a dedicated God, you can answer with all of the above!
Please let us know what game you play and why you choose that play style.
There are subgroups as well that will not be included such as Open World PvP (Where you find anyone in a PvE area and take them on).
PvP play is Player versus Player. This is where you go to a battleground and battle it out between other players. Either from a different faction, server or just because. It can be done in big groups called "zergs" (10-80 players per group), 5v5, 3v3, 2v2, 1v1 or any other type like that.
PvE play is Player versus Environment. This is where you participate in events and quests around the in-game world. Where you fight monsters and do your usual Dungeons. PvE can be done alone but is preferred with friends to make the experience more sociable.
Raiding is usually where the end-game content happens. The main villain of the expansion/game you are playing resides in a Raid Dungeon, and you need to go defeat him/her. Raids mostly consists of a bunch of Dungeon-like scenarios in one map where you progress towards the final Boss. Each having their own type of boss.
Everything in Raids are 10x more difficult than your usual PvE Dungeon and requires a lot of setup, skill and dedication. Raids usually consists of 10, 20, 25 or 40 people.
This is only available in some games. Role Playing is when you re-enact your favorite moments in movies or other games. And act as if your character is a real person. It's like SIMS, but in an MMO RPG. The RP groups are not that big in certain games but others have dedicated servers for that.
This is where you have done all of the above for a long amount of time. Clueless Wanderers can be seen in your major cities running around in circles with nothing to do. You are mostly waiting for a new expansion, holiday event, PvP season or Raid to come out. You have nothing else to play and nothing else significant to do in the game. You just run around town, aimlessly.
